Text Box: Modelling and analysis consulting

Consulting services

Introduction

Compusis offers consulting services in computational modelling, simulation and analysis. We principally apply the finite element method and use additional mathematical and computational techniques in support.

We typically undertake fixed-price projects, which invariably commence with a preparatory phase in which the scope and objectives of the project are discussed and agreed. The problem is then initially described and diagnosed, assessment and validation criteria are established, and a modelling and validation approach is planned.

A modelling and computation phase then follows, in which engineering assumptions are made and the problem is idealised as a conceptual model. A discretised numerical approximation of the idealised model is then created in software and solved computationally to an acceptable level of accuracy. The simulation results are then extracted and interpreted.

The analysis process concludes with a verification, validation and assessment phase, whereby the results are verified and the validity of the simulation is established. The results are then assessed in the context of the problem assessment criteria, conclusions are drawn. Analysis and validation reports are produced and presented for discussion.
